    Concerts and Cookies

So, the concert in the piazza went really well. We had a decent-sized crowd, and there weren't any major mishaps. It was fun, but I'm glad it's over! It was kind of consuming my life for a little while there. When we got home that night, I was rewarded for my job well-done with a hot bath, delicious dinner made by Kristoffer, and a phone call from the Chanukah party back home.

Last night we went to a free concert of contemporary art music and performance art. It was pretty neat. Reminded me of the days of Music Connections 3. One section of the concert consisted of works by Scandinavian composers and performers. There was one act in particular that I really liked. It was two songs for voice with an ensemble of instruments. The composer himself sang them, and he was really good. He was a true bass. Very impressive, mainly because you hardly ever hear voices like that anymore. The other acts were really good too, though a couple of them were really weird. Though that's to be expected with that genre.

Today I slept in really late and then spent the whole afternoon baking Christmas cookies! It was fun. And now, I'm just waiting for the pork chops in the oven to finish cooking, so we can eat dinner and then decorate the sugar cookies and gingerbread men. And light the menorah, of course! Tonight is the second night of Chanukah, in case you weren't aware.

This entry wasn't very exciting, but at least it keeps me from getting really far behind again.
